£76 Million EuroMillions Winner Urged to Come Forward

The National Lottery has stepped up its efforts to unite an elusive EuroMillions ticket holder with their £76 million winnings following the jackpot-winning draw on Friday 2nd November. Lottery officials have revealed that the winning ticket was bought from a local retailer in the Parliamentary Constituency of Boston and Skegness, Lincolnshire, on the day of the draw. All players have now been urged to check their tickets in a bid to present the winner with their eight-figure windfall.

What Happened in the Draw?

The winning numbers were 5, 15, 17, 37 and 44, plus Lucky Stars 7 and 11, on 2nd November, and the Lincolnshire ticket was the only one across all participating countries to match all seven numbers.

The area the winning ticket was bought in has been released in a bid to drum up coverage and remind people to check their tickets. This is standard practice for prizes worth £50,000 and over if a valid claim hasn’t been submitted within a fortnight after the draw.

The mysterious owner of the winning ticket, which could be a single player or a syndicate, has 180 days from the date of the draw to claim their EuroMillions winnings. Although the Wednesday 1st May 2019 claims deadline is still some way away, lottery officials are understandably eager for the player, or players, to make contact sooner rather than later to collect the 12th-biggest prize in the history of the National Lottery.

Lost Tickets and Claim Deadlines

If you believe you are the owner of the jackpot-winning ticket, you should telephone the National Lottery immediately on 0845 910 0000 to begin the claims process. If you think your ticket has been lost, damaged (/damaged-ticket) or stolen, The National Lottery could still pay out your winnings if you submitted a written claim within 30 days of the draw taking place.

Were the May 2019 deadline to pass without the owner coming forward to claim their prize, the prize money would be allocated to the National Lottery’s Good Causes Fund for projects involving sports, art, health and education, and more throughout the country.

Champagne is on Ice

Andy Carter, Senior Winners' Advisor at The National Lottery, is leading the search for the elusive winner. He visited the Boston area in the past few weeks as part of his campaign, and revealed he has the champagne on ice ready for the winner-in-waiting.

He said: “Our player services team are on standby waiting for the ticket-holder to come forward and claim their prize. They have great expertise in helping winners embrace life-changing wins and making sure that they are able to start to enjoy their new found wealth as quickly as possible.

“We’re desperate to find this mystery ticket-holder and unite them with their winnings and we’re urging everyone to try checking in the pockets of clothing, in wallets, bags, down the back of the sofa and anywhere a missing ticket could be hiding – someone out there could literally be sitting on a fortune! We have our fingers crossed that the lucky winner comes forward to claim their win.”

This isn’t the first time the Boston area of Lincolnshire has sold a jackpot-winning EuroMillions ticket.
