EuroMillions Superdraw Won by a Single Player in the UK
The EuroMillions Superdraw jackpot of £112 million has been won by a single ticket holder in the United Kingdom. There were over 3 million prizes given away in Friday’s draw but only one player managed to match the 5 main numbers and the 2 Lucky Stars correctly. This is the first time the Superdraw jackpot has been won on the first night, with no rollovers, since September 2020.
The winning numbers for Friday’s Superdraw are 7, 20, 36, 40 and 46 with the Lucky Stars 2 and 4. Visit the EuroMillions Results page to see a full prize breakdown, plus the winning Millionaire Maker code.
The last time a UK player won a EuroMillions Superdraw was back in June 2019. The Superdraw was held on the 7th of June but, as there were no winners on the night, the jackpot rolled over to the following draw and the £123 million was claimed by a single ticket holder. The biggest UK EuroMillions jackpot winner bagged over £170 million on Tuesday 8th October 2019 but decided to remain anonymous.
When someone wins an amount such as this, it is understandably common for them to remain private after collecting their winnings. If this jackpot winner wants to stay anonymous, no further information will be given.
What is a EuroMillions Superdraw?
EuroMillions Superdraws are special lottery events introduced in 2009 in which the jackpot is pre-set to a guaranteed 9-figure amount. These only happen a few times a year and the rules remain the same as a normal EuroMillions draw, the only difference is that the size of the jackpot is not affected by the previous draws or ticket sales. The money comes from the EuroMillions Reserve fund which receives a percentage of the common prize fund with every EuroMillions draw.
In 2020, some changes to the prize structure came into effect meaning that more money could be added to the EuroMillions Reserve Fund which in turn means these special lottery events can be held more frequently, and possibly with higher prize amounts.
If there are no winners on the first Superdraw night, the jackpot will rollover until it reaches it cap of €220 Million (around £190 Million) or someone matches the five main numbers and both Lucky Stars. If there are still no winners after four draws once the Superdraw jackpot reaches its cap, the top prize amount then rolls down to be divided between the winners of the next highest prize tier.
Did you miss out on this Superdraw? Not to worry, the next Superdraw will be announced on the here website once it has been scheduled and you can be in with a chance of winning the next boosted jackpot!
The EuroMillions jackpot will now reset at €17 million (roughly £14 Million) ready for Tuesday’s draw and you can get your tickets for that draw here.
