Lotto Jackpot Hits £10 Million as Camelot Announces More Money for Good Causes
Updated: Tuesday 12th June 2018
No one matched six numbers to win the jackpot in Saturday’s Lotto draw so the top prize has rolled over to £10.7 million for the next draw on Wednesday 13th June.
The winning numbers from the Lotto draw on Saturday 9th June were 3, 17, 20, 55, 56, and 58, with Bonus Ball 57. Although no one won the jackpot, nearly £2.5 million in prize money was awarded to players, including prizes of £2,132 to players who matched five numbers. See the Results page for a full breakdown from Saturday’s draw.
The winning numbers from Saturday’s Thunderball were 6, 24, 34, 35, and 38, with Thunderball 11, but there were no winners of the £500,000 jackpot. One Millionaire Raffle code was also drawn; the winning code was JADE 4727 9723.
On Friday, the EuroMillions jackpot was won for the third consecutive draw, the first time this has happened since October 2015. The prize went to a ticket from Spain, extending a recent run of luck for players in the country that now sees it tied with France at 87 jackpot winners, the most of any of the participating countries. The UK sits third on the list with 72 winners.
The winning numbers from the EuroMillions draw on Friday 8th June were 8, 19, 32, 43, and 46, with Lucky Stars 2 and 8. See a full prize breakdown here, including details of the two UK Millionaire Maker codes.
More Money Went to Good Causes Last Year
Camelot announced this week that in the year ending March 2018 UK National Lottery sales increased by £26.4 million from the year before. Record digital sales of £1.6 billion contributed to the growth, which will be seen as good news for the lottery operators, who expected sales to continue declining.
Camelot’s Chief Executive, Nigel Railton, said: “Given that we had anticipated a further sales decline this year, our achievement in getting The National Lottery back into growth and delivering more money for Good Causes underlines the importance of the work we have been carrying out following the strategic review.”
Over £1.6 billion was generated for the National Lottery’s Good Causes fund over the year, an increase of £27 million on the previous year. The money was used to support charitable projects and non-profit organisations around the UK and it takes the total raised since 1994 to £37 billion. Visit the Good Causes page to find out more about the fund, including examples of projects that have benefitted.
