Lotto Valentine’s Superdraw Set For 13th February
Updated: Tuesday 5th February 2019
There will be more than love in the air for lucky Lotto players this Valentine’s Day, with a Superdraw set to take place on Wednesday 13th February. The jackpot will be bumped up to £14 million for the special event, making it the biggest draw of the year so far.
How The Superdraw Will Work
The Superdraw will follow the same rules as any other regular draw, but the difference will be the size of the jackpot. The £14 million top prize has been announced in advance and will be guaranteed regardless of what happens in the draws leading up to 13th February.
Even if the jackpot is won on Saturday 9th February, funds will be added to the jackpot to top it up to the advertised amount. This extra money will come from the Lotto Reserve Fund, which receives a small percentage of the prize fund in every draw.
To promote the big event, National Lottery operator Camelot has selected a pair of married retailers to star in a special advert. Jon and Michaela Maslen-Jones, who own the Stow News Post Office in Stow-on-the-Wold in the Cotswolds, were chosen ahead of dozens of other married couples to appear in the commercial.
Duncan Malyon, Camelot’s retail director, said it was important to invest in retailers to help make sure that National Lottery games are as prominent as possible in stores across the country. He said: “Having real retailers like Jon and Michaela in our adverts is just one of the many ways we are growing our relationships with our 44,000 retail partners across the UK. We’re so glad they enjoyed the experience and really appreciate them taking the time out from their shop to do so.”
Biggest Draw Of 2019
The Superdraw will offer the largest Lotto jackpot since another special event was held just before Christmas. A top prize of £15 million was put up for grabs on 22nd December for a ‘Must Be Won’ draw, and two players split the money to bank £7.5 million.
A single winner of the upcoming Superdraw would pocket an even larger reward, setting them up perfectly for Valentine’s Day and beyond. Even if the jackpot remains out of reach, you could win enough to plan for a romantic getaway, engagement ring or expensive wedding! You have to be in it to win it, of course, so make sure to take part by picking up a ticket from an authorised retailer or playing online. Good luck!
