Special Lotto and EuroMillions Draws Lined Up for Festive Season
It promises to be a magical festive season for National Lottery players, with a couple of special festive draws set to take place. Find out more about the big Lotto and EuroMillions events lined up for Christmas and New Year.
£15 Million Lotto Must Be Won Draw
In keeping with recent tradition, there will be a festive £15 million Lotto Must Be Won draw. This will take place on Wednesday 25th December, guaranteeing that it will be a Christmas Day to remember for lucky ticket holders.
It does not matter whether the jackpot has just been won in the preceding draw, or whether it is much lower, it will be bumped up to £15 million. What’s more, all the prize money will definitely be paid out!
If someone matches all the numbers, they will become the joint-biggest Lotto winner of the year. The jackpot could even be split two or three ways if multiple players have the perfect winning line.
The alternative to one or two big winners is that the money has to roll down. If no tickets match all the numbers, the entire jackpot will be shared out between everyone else who has won a prize.
Anyone matching five numbers plus the Bonus Ball will see their £1 million prize increased, while lower amounts will also be boosted. Even if you match just two numbers, you’ll get £5 on top of your free Lucky Dip. Match three numbers and you might win around £100 instead of the standard £30.
10 Millionaires To Ring in 2025
A special EuroMillions draw on Tuesday 31st December will also create 10 new UK millionaires. This significantly improves your chances of winning a £1 million prize.
In regular draws, there is just one prize of £1 million up for grabs as part of the Millionaire Maker. However, on New Year’s Eve there will be nine more winning codes announced.
To become a millionaire, the nine-digit code on your ticket must be exactly the same as one of the 10 winning codes selected on the night. There’s four letters and five numbers, and you can check the results as soon as they are available.
The Millionaire Maker is a raffle, so only codes that have been generated for the draw are entered into it. This guarantees that there will be 10 winners. The odds depend entirely on how many tickets are sold, but they will be far better than your chances of winning the EuroMillions jackpot - which are 1 in 139,838,160.
You could even end up winning in the main draw and the Millionaire Maker raffle on the same night. Regardless of how much you win, you have 180 days to come forward and claim.
Don’t Miss Out
National Lottery bosses are expecting the festive draws to provide a boost to ticket sales. Alison Acquaye-Acford, Allwyn’s director of commercial partnerships and retail sales, said: “Our special EuroMillions and Lotto draws will help further drive sales for retailers, and we suggest retailers talk to their customers about the draws to get them excited and buying tickets.”
“This festive extravaganza will ultimately help to boost retailers’ bottom lines while at the same time helping to raise around £30m every week for National Lottery Good Causes.”
Make sure you don’t miss out on the chance to take part in either of these special events, then view the results straight afterwards to find out whether you are a winner.
