EuroMillions HotPicks Tickets Go on Sale Ahead of First Draw

Lottery fans across the UK have been snapping up tickets ahead of the first EuroMillions HotPicks draw after they went on sale this morning. The game, which uses the main EuroMillions numbers but which can be played separately from the multinational lottery, offers five different ways to play, with the chance to win up to £1 million.

How Does EuroMillions HotPicks Work?

EuroMillions HotPicks allows you to choose your own game and guess as many balls as you like, up to a maximum of five. In Pick 1, you choose one number from 50 and win £10 if it comes up in the main numbers of that night’s EuroMillions draw. If you play Pick 2, you choose two numbers and win £100 if they both come up. However, there is no prize if you play Pick 2 and only match one number.

Pick 5 offers the biggest prize, worth £1 million, requiring you to choose and match five numbers to win. Each line costs £1.50 and only the main numbers from that night’s EuroMillions draw count, the Lucky Stars are not included. Read about all of the prizes available, and the odds of winning them, at the EuroMillions HotPicks page.

Why Play EuroMillions HotPicks?

EuroMillions HotPicks offers larger prizes than the main EuroMillions draw for matching the same amount of numbers. On Tuesday night in the pan-European lottery, Match 5 winners picked up £19,653, whereas anyone achieving that feat in the UK-only game’s debut on Friday night will win £1 million. The odds of winning are more favourable too, with HotPicks players overcoming a 1 in 2.1 million shot and EuroMillions ticket holders facing a 1 in 3.1 million chance of matching five numbers.

HotPicks is also £1 per line cheaper than EuroMillions, at £1.50, and offers similar chances of becoming a millionaire to Millionaire Maker.

However, if you play Pick 5, there are no alternative prizes on offer, even if you match four of the balls drawn. In addition, you cannot win the vast sums that EuroMillions regularly offers, such as Friday night’s £80 million jackpot. If you’d like to grab that pan-European bounty, choose your numbers now.

More National Lottery Changes

It’s not just EuroMillions HotPicks making its debut this month, next week sees the first ever Tuesday Thunderball draw on 30th January, allowing you to play for £500,000 four times a week from now on.
