Guaranteed £20 Million Lotto Jackpot Must Be Won On Saturday 2nd September
Updated: Wednesday 23rd August 2023
On Saturday 2nd September, The National Lottery will hold a special Must Be Won draw. As its name suggests, the £20 million jackpot is guaranteed to be won even if no one matches all six winning numbers.
Most of the time, this kind of special draw is organised when no one wins the Lotto jackpot for five consecutive draws. However, on this occasion, even though the jackpot has recently been won, this special draw has been announced. These kinds of draws only happen a few times a year, usually in the context of holidays or celebrations.
Three Must Be Won draws of this kind already took place this year. The first one, also known as Lotto’s ‘Easter Extravaganza’, happened on Saturday 8th April. On Saturday 6th May, The King’s coronation was celebrated with a Must Be Won draw. The most recent one took place about two months ago, on Saturday 1st July. The jackpot for all these special draws was worth $20 million.
So What Makes This Draw So Special?
The great thing about a Must Be Won draw is that the jackpot prize money can still be claimed even if no one matches all six winning numbers. The grand prize will be shared among those who match at least two numbers. This is known as a rolldown and, depending on how many numbers you match, the prize will be split according to certain percentages.
For example, if you match two numbers, instead of just getting a free Lucky Dip ticket, you would also get £5. You can check out the rolldown prizes if you want to know how they actually work and to find out how much you could win.
