UK Ticket Wins EuroMillions Jackpot!
Updated: Monday 23rd July 2018
A lottery ticket bought right here in the UK won the EuroMillions jackpot last Friday, which means that the country has now landed more jackpots than any other participating nation in 2017.
The EuroMillions results on Friday 28 July were 05, 09, 29, 31 and 41, along with the Lucky Star numbers 02 and 04. A sequence of four draws without a jackpot winner meant that the UK ticket which matched all seven of the numbers drawn on Friday scooped the jaw-dropping sum of £51,702,049 – not a bad return at all for a ticket costing just a modest amount of pocket change.
Whilst the jackpot was obviously the largest prize landed on Friday, more than two million other amounts were also won. Three tickets – one of which had been purchased in the UK – matched all five main numbers plus one of the Lucky Stars to win £243,054 each, and another seven tickets won £24,261 each by matching five main numbers only. The total number of prizes won by tickets in this country exceeded 521,000.
Because last week was Mega Week, three UK participants each won themselves a Millionaire Maker prize of £1 million plus a luxurious Florida break for themselves and three guests. The winning Millionaire Maker numbers on Friday were HLNM90897, JJMP11656 and VLNK78735, and you can view the complete breakdown of all EuroMillions prizes by visiting our EuroMillions Results page.
UK tickets have now won four EuroMillions jackpots since the rule change in September of last year, which puts us on equal footing with Belgium, Portugal and France. One more win for the UK would put us in the overall lead, and the next opportunity to win big will be this Tuesday 1 August, when the EuroMillions game will offer a brand new jackpot worth around £15 million.
We will have to wait and see if a British ticket can win the first EuroMillions draw of August, but if you fancy your chances, choose your numbers today and then download one of our free lottery apps so that you can check the results within seconds of the draw taking place. Enjoy the game and good luck!
