The Lotto jackpot this Wednesday 18 October must be won after the previous game saw a jackpot of £22.67 million roll over. A jackpot cap of £22 million means that no further rollovers are possible, so if the top prize is not won outright this Wednesday, the jackpot fund will roll down to the next highest tier that does have winners.

The Lotto results last Saturday 14 October were 06, 22, 40, 43, 47 and 58, and the Bonus Ball was 42. Nobody won the jackpot, which had a final value of £22,673,298, but one player matched five main numbers as well as the Bonus Ball number to land a second tier prize worth £86,738.

More than 1.23 million prizes were won in total on Saturday, and the combined value of those exceeded £3.47 million. The jackpot for this Wednesday’s Lotto game is expected to be worth around £24.8 million, and if that estimation is accurate, it would make the jackpot the second largest of the year. The largest, which was on Wednesday 24 May, rolled down to the second tier, where two players shared £25.51 million. Of course, if this Wednesday’s jackpot ends up beating the estimate, it just might turn out to be even bigger than that, which is quite a thought!
