Which Celebrity’s House Could You Buy With a EuroMillions or Lotto Win?
Updated: Monday 11th June 2018

When you dream of winning a EuroMillions or Lotto jackpot, a brand new mansion befitting your new status is always up near the top of the fantasy shopping list. Not only could you live out your days in the lap of luxury, but you could also own the ultimate piece of celebrity memorabilia - a famous person’s house!

EuroMillions Winners Buy Tom Jones’ House

Dave and Angela Dawes, who scooped a mighty £101.2 million EuroMillions jackpot in October 2011, made the news this week when it was revealed they are now the new residents of a six-bedroom abode in Etchingham, East Sussex, once owned by Welsh crooner Tom Jones and fellow singer Englebert Humperdinck.

The Grade Two listed mansion was the setting for a host of wild parties hosted by the stars in the 1960s and features a party room with a bar and a cinema. It sits on 56 acres of land, which includes a boathouse by a lake.

The Dawes, who lived in Cambridgeshire when they claimed their gigantic award, moved into a luxury Chelsea apartment with their winnings. They recently sold that pad for £4.5 million before picking up the keys to the mansion that once belonged to the avuncular coach from The Voice.

Which Celebrity’s House Would You Buy?

If the idea of bedding down each night in a room previously inhabited by a famous person excites you, there are a few celebrity pads on the market. Politics buffs might want to snap up the mansion where President Obama and his family spent the summer of 2013 on Martha’s Vineyard, an island in Massachusetts. The 7,000 square-foot pile is up for grabs at $17.7 million (£12.8 million), which you could buy from Wednesday’s £14.5 million Lotto jackpot or, leaving a lot more spare for bills, tonight’s £53 million EuroMillions top prize.

If you lean the other way politically, current US President Donald Trump is selling his Caribbean estate on St. Martin for $16.9 million (£12.2 million). It’s known as Le Chateau des Palmiers and features 20 bedrooms, ten bathrooms and a swimming pool.

Buy a Bit of Beatles History

If you are a big fan of a certain star and would like to buy their home, you might have to wait patiently for it to come on the market, swooping when the board goes up. Lottery-winning Beatles fans will surely want to eye up the six-bedroom estate in Weybridge, Surrey once owned by John Lennon. The sprawling mansion was last up for sale in 2012, when the asking prize was £13.7 million; just a touch more than the £20,000 the Imagine singer paid for it in 1964.

More Affordable Celebrity Property

If you love the idea of moving into a star’s home with your lottery win, but you don’t want to hand over a gigantic chunk of your windfall in one go, there are some less expensive options. Peter Andre lives in a £2 million new build in East Grinstead, West Sussex, whilst Alesha Dixon recently advertised her bungalow in Hertfordshire, complete with a fetching curved, purple garden wall, for £1.1 million, according to online estate agent Zoopla.

Play EuroMillions and Lotto

To fund your celebrity property dreams, you will need to pick up one of the two glorious jackpots on offer this week. Simply join a Lotto syndicate or pick your EuroMillions numbers through the Tickets page and you could be calling up an estate agent and setting up a set of star-filled viewings this weekend.
