Two Lotto Must Be Won Draws To Be Held in the Same Week
The Lotto jackpot is guaranteed to be paid out on both Wednesday and Saturday this week, as back-to-back Must Be Won draws will be held.
On Wednesday, the top prize will stand at £12.5 million following a run of five consecutive draws without a winner. Lotto rules state that the jackpot cannot roll over six times in a row, so it must now be won.
The jackpot usually resets to its starting value after being won, but this Saturday there will be a special £15 million draw to celebrate the Paris Paralympics. Again, the money has to be won on Saturday.
Both draws will follow the now-familiar format of regular Must Be Won events. The jackpot will be given away to anyone who matches all six main numbers, or split between them if there are multiple winners.
The other scenario is that no tickets match all the numbers, so the money has to ‘roll down’. This involves every single prize winner getting a slice of the jackpot. A percentage is assigned to each of the prize categories, and then this is divided between the winners.
This extra cash is added to the standard prize. If you match two numbers, for example, you will receive £5 on top of your free Lucky Dip. Getting three numbers could yield around £100 instead of the usual £30.
EuroMillions Hits £110 Million
As well as the exciting Lotto promotions, the EuroMillions jackpot has also hit a mammoth £110 million ahead of Tuesday night’s draw.
The top prize has been building since a UK player won £24 million on 26th July, and now ranks as one of the largest of the year.
It can keep growing up to a maximum of €250 million (approximately £210 million). Even if it gets won soon, the jackpot will soon be bumped up again for a Superdraw on 27th September.
You can enjoy EuroMillions, Lotto, or both games, by purchasing tickets from authorised retailers, or taking part online.
